	Barry De Silva, President of De Silva Consulting, has been involved in Information Technology and Business Consulting for 43 years. His extensive knowledge of the Forestry, Manufacturing and Wholesaling industries is complemented by some 10 years experience in developing and installing systems in the Local Government arena. Barry has had a great deal of experience in training and education. In addition to the one-on-one training installing a system involves, he has organized training courses and seminars, and taught in colleges and universities. This hands-on experience of designing, developing and implementing software applications is supported by a background in Accounting and Corporate Law, with a Degree in Business Studies. Barry has done work for a number of large companies over the years, on both sides of the Atlantic. As can be imagined from 43 years in the industry, he has seen a lot of changes. Currently, much of his work is involved with the latest in Database and 4GL applications, and the development of his own range of innovative software modules.
Barry came to Canada from England in 1982, after a number of years in computer marketing and data processing management, to start a new career as a Consultant. Outside of work, his main interest is music, which includes the directing of a number of choirs in the Maple Ridge area. These keep him very involved in the local community.
